Composer for Stage and Video Soundtracks

David Cocker studied Jazz piano and Arranging at the Queensland Conservatorium and was awarded a High distinction in Contemporary Popular Music in 2000 for Keyboard from the Australian Music Examinations Board. As a jazz/rock musician David has worked in most of the capital cities in Australia and toured with some of Australia's and America's top acts such as Judith Durham, Normie Rowe, Roy Orbison and Triny Lopex to name a few.

Computer-generated music has been part of David's life since 1988 when he was involved in creating soundtracks for Expo 88. With his expertise in the fields of electronic music and sound engineering, he has created a number soundtracks for the stage.

Possum Magic - the Musical is one of Australia's most successful children's musicals and has been touring for twenty-one years.
Writing, orchestrating and recording the music score for Possum Magic in 1991 David was asked by the producer Garry Ginivan to re-record the soundtrack in 2009 and bring it inline with new advances in electronic technology, as the production was totally revamped with new sets, costumes and soundtrack.

Smiley - the Musical was first performed in Redcliffe 1992 and was funded by the Queensland Government as part of a Special Community Arts Project and associated activities celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the opening of the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre on the 28th October 1982. The musical was based on the novels of Moore Raymond and the book and lyrics was written by John Watson.
